Lourdes Gurriel Jr. has been a different player for the Blue Jays in the second half, and he’s been a major factor in helping get them back into the playoff picture.
For the first half of the season, I would argue that Gurriel Jr’s performance perfectly captured the Blue Jays in 2021. All the potential in the world and plenty of flashes of brilliance, but ultimately pretty underwhelming.
