In what should be no real surprise to anyone, second baseman Devon Travis has been shut down for the remainder of the 2019 campaign. Blue Jays manager Charlie Montoyo announced that Travis will not return from a meniscus tear in his left knee before season’s end.
The 28-year old has missed the entire year after being sidelined in March with the injury. His future with the club is up in the air as Travis could be a non-tender candidate after earning $1.925 million this season.
Travis has been snakebitten with chronic knee issues, however, now his spot on the field is occupied by Cavan Biggio making it more likely the Blue Jays will cut ties with him this offseason.
