As Blue Jays fans continue to recover from what has been an exhilarating afternoon, more details have surfaced on the Roberto Osuna trade, and both teams have made the trade official, with both issuing releases summarizing the shocking swap.
All in all, the Jays traded Osuna for RHP Ken Giles, minor league pitchers Hector Perez and David Paulino. Perez was ranked as Houston’s No. 10 prospect, while Paulino was ranked as their No. 23 prospect, per MLB Pipeline.
Surprisingly, the Blue Jays appear to have gotten a lot in return for Osuna, who will appear in court with the intention of pleading not guilty to assault charges on August 1st.
