It wasn't all eight-run innings and blanked frames for their opponents on Sunday for the Blue Jays.
The day began with news that Edwin Encarnacion had been issued a one-game suspension for bumping home plate umpire Vic Carapazza on Friday in the first inning of the Blue Jays'' 2-1 19-inning loss.
Encarnacion was upset with Carapazza's strike zone -- he was not alone in that estimation -- and allegedly bumped the umpire as he tried to make his point.
Encarnacion immediately appealed the suspension and his appeal will be heard at a later date, likely not before the all-star break next weekend.
