Blue Jays' Dickey holds head high despite early exit [Photos]

ARLINGTON - R.A. Dickey didn’t get the win but in his post-game interview he went out in a blaze of glory with his head held high.

After being yanked from the first playoff game of his career just one out away from being in position for the win, Dickey took the high road, but you could see the hurt in his eyes.

In the fifth inning with two out and a runner at first, manager John Gibbons lifted him and replaced him with left-hander David Price with a series of left-handed hitting Texas hitters coming up.

“Just let me say this, no competitor would or should want to come out of a game like that, okay” Dickey said.
