TORONTO -- After Todd Redmond threw four innings Monday in the Blue Jays' win in the series opener against the Angels, the right-hander was designated for assignment ahead of Tuesday's game at Rogers Centre.
Redmond was making a spot start as the Blue Jays opted to bump their rotation back by one day.
The club recalled right-hander Scott Copeland from Triple-A Buffalo in a corresponding move.
Copeland is 3-1 with a 2.43 ERA in six starts with the Bisons this season.
