The Blue Jays announced the release of shortstop Troy Tulowitzki on Tuesday.
"Through many conversations with Troy and his representative Paul Cohen, and with consideration to what is in the best interest of both sides, we made the decision to release Troy today," said Ross Atkins, General Manager, Toronto Blue Jays.
Tulowitzki, 34, hit .249 (60-for-241) with 10 doubles, seven home runs, and 26 RBI in 66 games in 2017. The 6-3, 205 lb. native of Santa Clara, CA has a career batting average of .290 with 224 home runs, 779 RBI, and an OPS of .
