ARLINGTON -- The Blue Jays claimed right-hander Donn Roach off waivers from the Reds on Tuesday afternoon, and he's set to join Triple-A Buffalo later this week.
Roach was designated for assignment by Cincinnati on Sunday after posting a 2-4 record with a 6.00 ERA in seven starts for Triple-A Louisville. He began the year in the Cubs' system and had a 2.33 ERA in 15 starts.
The 25-year-old Roach has made 17 career appearances in the Major Leagues, including two starts. He was originally drafted in the third round of the 2010 Draft by the Angels and has since played for the Padres, the Cubs and the Angels.
