Blue Jays bring back Bo Schultz, Loup to triple-A

The Toronto Blue Jays have recalled reliever Bo Schultz from the triple-A Buffalo Bisons and optioned Aaron Loup in a corresponding move.

Schultz has scattered 10 major league appearances over the season, posting a 3.00 ERA over 12 innings with the Blue Jays. The hard-throwing right-hander was a pleasant surprise in 2015 after being claimed from the Arizona Diamondbacks, making 31 appearances and giving the Jays multiple innings when needed.

The curious point of Schultz’s game comes in his strikeout totals, which haven’t been nearly as high as his velocity would suggest.
