Chalk this up as a major win for the Blue Jays if and when it all gets confirmed. The Jays have reportedly agreed to a deal to send Francisco Liriano to the Astros in exchange for Nori Aoki and a minor leaguer who has yet to be named. Brian McTaggart was the first to report that Aoki was coming back to the Blue Jays.
Liriano is in the final year of his current contract, and thus would be a free agent at the end of the season. With the Blue Jays sitting the basement of the AL East, it only stands to reason that they would shop someone like him and see what they could get in return.
