The Blue Jays acquired Anthony Kay and Simeon Woods Richardson from the New York Mets in the controversial Marcus Stroman trade earlier this week. Kay had struggled with the Mets Triple-A affiliate in Syracuse prior to the deal and last night was no different with the herd.
Kay lasted 4.2 innings scattering nine hits for seven runs although only three runs were earned. The southpaw was taken yard by former MLB’er Logan Morrison while also walking three and striking out a trio in his debut. Kay did manage to throw 61 of his 94 pitches for strikes during the outing.
