Blue Jays: Anthony Kay could possibly start on Sunday

The Blue Jays acquired Anthony Kay from the New York Mets in the Marcus Stroman deal ahead of the trade deadline last month. Kay has been impressive since being assigned to the Triple-A affiliate following the trade.

The 24-year old had made five starts for the Bisons allowing just four runs in 28.2 innings of work including three scoreless outings. Kay has also fanned 33 batters and last pitched on Tuesday which could put him in line for Sunday’s start versus the Houston Astros at the Rogers Centre.

Trent Thornton will get the ball on Friday while Clay Buccholz takes the bump on Saturday, however, the starter for Sunday has yet be determined adding fuel to the Kay speculation.
