TORONTO -- The Blue Jays will be hitting the road in January for their annual Winter Tour, with stops in Fredericton, Ottawa and Toronto.
The annual fan event is based on a caravan tour Toronto did during the early 1980s. It was brought back in 2011 by former president Paul Beeston and current vice president of business operations Stephen Brooks.
The Blue Jays attempt to change the locations of their tour every year, and after previous stops on the West Coast and in the Prairies, the 2016 version will include a city in the Maritimes.
"Winter Tour presented by TD, continues to be extremely popular with fans and is the unofficial kickoff to the 2016 season," Brooks said in a statement released by the club.
