The Blue Jays activated outfielder Ezequiel Carrera from the 15-day disabled list prior to Tuesday night's game against the Yankees.
Carrera had been out since July 31 with a strained left Achilles' tendon. Outfielder Junior Lake was designated for assignment to make room for Carrera on the 25-man active roster.
Even though Carrera was added to the roster he was not in the starting lineup for Tuesday night's game vs. New York. Darrell Ceciliani got the start in left field after he had three hits in his previous four games and that trend could continue.
