The Blue Jays activated Jose Bautista off the 15-day disabled list on Monday and designated outfielder Junior Lake for assignment.
Bautista has been out since June 16 with turf toe. He was 1-for-11 in three rehab games with Triple-A Buffalo over the weekend, after playing one game for Class A Advanced Dunedin.
Bautista, who was hitting .230 with 12 home runs, sustained the injury while crashing into the right-field wall during a game against the Phillies. He was placed in a walking boot for several weeks, and he has since been making gradual progress on his way back to the big leagues.
