Blue Jays acquire pitching prospect for Loup

The Blue Jays have acquired Minor League right-hander Jacob Waguespack from the Phillies in exchange for lefty Aaron Loup.

Waguespack, 24, is 4-6 with a 4.68 ERA in 21 games for the Reading Fightin Phils of the Double-A Eastern League and the Lehigh Valley IronPigs of the Triple-A International League. The 6-foot-6, 225-pound right-hander has pitched 82 2/3 innings this season, allowing 85 hits with 36 walks and 79 strikeouts. The native of Waco, Texas, owns a career record of 17-16 and a 3.67 ERA in four Minor League seasons.
