Blue Jays acquire Giles, prospects for Osuna

OAKLAND -- The Blue Jays continued their midsummer trade action on Monday afternoon by sending suspended closer Roberto Osuna to the Astros for reliever Ken Giles and pitching prospects David Paulino and Hector Perez.

Giles is under control through the 2020 season. He picked up 34 saves for Houston in 2017, but this year he's struggled, posting a 4.99 ERA in 34 appearances. Giles' prolonged struggles led to a demotion to the Minor Leagues on July 11, but he is expected to join Toronto's big league roster.

Perez, a 23-year-old right-hander, was ranked Houston's No.
