Blue Jays manager John Gibbons wasn’t mincing words when asked about losing his fine young starter Aaron Sanchez to a blister problem.
“For us to win anything (this season) we’ve got to get him out there for 30 starts. That’s for sure,” said Gibbons.
Sanchez was put on the 10-day DL with a right middle finger blister and will see a specialist in Kansas City on Monday. They’ve also lost Josh Donaldson, J.P. Howell and J.A. Happ, though Happ will undergo an MRI on Monday to determine why he is suffering left elbow soreness. The Jays have few injury issues in their run to the playoffs last season.
