TORONTO — Some three hours before the opening pitch on Friday night, Aaron Sanchez was throwing from the bullpen mound at the Rogers Centre.
It was an encouraging sign for the would-be ace of the Blue Jays staff, suggesting that he’s getting closer to a return.
And then the game began and Joe Biagini had the type of effort that will make plenty room for Sanchez on the starting rotation when that time comes.
The run of solid starts by Biagini - including back-to-back seven-inning outings - ended with a thud at the Rogers Centre as the Jays were crushed 11-4 by the previously mediocre Chicago White Sox.
