NATIONAL HARBOR, Md. — The days of Edwin Encarnacion being a rich man in a Blue Jays uniform have pretty much floated off to the nearby Potomac River as baseball’s Winter Meetings come to close.
Barring a multi-million dollar miracle, or the outside shot that for public consumption Jays manager Ross Atkins is bluffing, you can cross the Ed-Wing parrot off the kid’s Christmas list.
“It there’s a way, I don’t see it,” Atkins said bluntly on Wednesday in his daily briefing with the Toronto media. “I don’t think (Encarnacion’s agent, Paul Kinzer) sees it either. But we haven’t stopped trying.
