TORONTO — Pride defeated desperation as the Blue Jays downed the Baltimore Orioles 4-3 at the Rogers Centre Monday night.
The Orioles are fighting for a wild card while the Jays are basically playing out the season and acting as spoilers. Darwin Barney led the charge for Toronto with a hot bat and glove. The Jays’ infielder went 2-for-3 with a double, and made a huge play at third in the eighth to guide Toronto to the win. Barney is 14-for-32 in his last nine games. Starter Marco Estrada went five solid innings to pick up the win.
