Blue Jays’ Chris Colabello remembers after Game 2 in the ALDS against Texas, after dropping the first two games to the Rangers, infielder Munenori Kawasaki — who’s not on the active roster — addressed the team.
“ A full Japanese conversation,” said Colabello, following a Blue Jays’ workout on Sunday at the Rogers Centre. “I think I understood one word because he put three fingers up, he said something in Japanese and then, ‘Three!” That was the only thing I understood, but we got the message. It was awesome.”
Players who are injured or not on the active roster often talk about how they no longer feel part of the team, that they’re basically ghosts to the guys in the clubhouse and nobody really wants to have much to do with them.
