TORONTO - Scott Copeland is gone, but don't expect right-hander Aaron Sanchez to reappear and reclaim his spot in the rotation any time soon.
The Blue Jays won't need a fifth starter until June 30 when they face Boston, but after their loss Sunday, manager John Gibbons said it wouldn't be Sanchez, who is on the disabled list with a strained lat.
Pitching coach Pete Walker, however, is holding out hope his return will be sooner rather than later.
Asked if he expects Sanchez to be a second-half contributor he replied: "Yeah.
