The MLB trade deadline on August 1st is rapidly approaching, and the Toronto Blue Jays trade rumors are starting to heat up. The Blue Jays are 57-45, and just 1.5 games back of the AL East lead. Since they are in the midst of a playoff race, the Blue Jays are likely buyers at the deadline. With that in mind, here all the latest Blue Jays trade rumors below.
Blue Jays Want Boone Logan?
The Blue Jays badly need left-handed bullpen help, and that's why they're interested in the Rockies' Boone Logan.

Logan has an impressive .862 WHIP, which is lower than Aroldis Chapman's. The Blue Jays' top lefty bullpen option is Brett Cecil, who has a terrible 0-6 record with a 6.00 ERA.
Toronto Interested In Hellickson And Others?
The Blue Jays had expressed interest in Andrew Cashner, but that's no longer an option now that he's been dealt to the Marlins. After missing out on Hellickson, ESPN's Jayson Stark reports the team is still trying to land a starter before the deadline.
Nevertheless, other clubs report that the Blue Jays have been one of the most aggressive teams in hunting for a starter in recent days. They've been linked with all sorts of names, ranging from the usual suspects (Rich Hill, Andrew Cashner) to some you'd never see coming (CC Sabathia?). One name to keep an eye on is Philadelphia's Jeremy Hellickson, who at least could provide reasonably dependable innings, for a return they could probably afford.
Hellickson has drawn plenty of interest from teams, including the Rangers. As shown by the other names above, it's a pretty bad starting pitching trade market.
Nats Called About Jose Bautista?
It's highly unlikely the Blue Jays trade Jose Bautista (even though they should consider it). However, at least one team has called.
Ok, this one is crazy and seems unlikely, but: person with knowledge says Nats have inquired about Toronto OF Jose Bautista. He is 10-5.

Remember, this isn't an indication that the Blue Jays are even considering trading Joey Bats, just that the Nats called. A trade of Bautista would be a big surprise.
