On a cloudy day at Pimlico Race Course in Baltimore, Maryland, but on a fast track, Cloud Computing (14/1 odds) shockingly came out on top in the 142nd Preakness Stakes. Always Dreaming and Classic Empire, the two favorites, both led out of the gates and battled in front for the entire race.
However, Classic Empire pulled away in the final turn and looked like he was going to run away with it - but Cloud Computing went on a huge spurt down the stretch to win by a nose.
Always Dreaming won the Kentucky Derby earlier this month, but will not get a chance to become the second horse in three years to win the Triple Crown. The horse entered the race with 6/5 odds.
Classic Empire (2/1 odds) was able to come in second, while Senior Investment (30/1 odds) rounded out the top three.
The final leg of the Triple Crown is the Belmont Stakes on June 10th at Belmont Park in Elmont, New York.
