Zion Harvey, first child recipient of a double-hand transplant, throws out ceremonial pitch at Orioles-Rangers game

Starter Dylan Bundy gave up just one hit in seven full innings in the Orioles' 5-1 win against the Rangers Tuesday night.

But none of the 88 pitches, including 60 strikes, the 6-1, 200-pound righty threw mattered nearly as much as the slow dribbler Zion Harvey lofted from the mound at Camden Yards. A year ago, the nine-year-old became the first pediatric recipient of a bilateral hand transplant.

After training for nearly a year to be able to grip and toss a baseball, Harvey hurled one toward center fielder Chad Jones behind the plate, throwing out the ceremonial first pitch.
