The biggest news over the weekend -- as it relatively connects to college basketball -- was the failure of Kentucky coach John Calipari's under-19 USA Basketball team. Failure equates to only one loss in this case, but that loss came to Canada in the FIBA World Cup semifinals Saturday. It meant no gold medal in Egypt for USA Basketball.

And so for the first time in six years, an amateur USA Basketball team lost in sanctioned competition.
