Yankees to retire Derek Jeter's No. 2 in May

As expected, Derek Jeter will be immortalized by the New York Yankees.

The team announced Tuesday that it will retire the former shortstop's No. 2 and unveil his plaque in Monument Park on May 14 against the Houston Astros.

Jeter, who played his final season in 2014 after a 20-year career in New York, will become the 22nd player in franchise history to have his number retired.
