Yankees 3, Rays 2: Yankees Complete Solid First Half With a Second Straight Thriller

After completing 79 games without a walk-off win, the Yankees finished the first half of the season with their second consecutive victory in their last at-bat, stopping the Tampa Bay Rays, 3-2, on Saturday at Yankee Stadium.

Dellin Betances blew a 2-0 lead in the top of the ninth, but Mark Teixeira doubled off Brad Boxberger in the bottom of the inning. Jose Pirela then came in as a pinch-runner and scored the winning run two batters later when Ramon Flores bunted and Boxberger made an errant throw to first, allowing Pirela to score.
