Xavier Worthy made history on Saturday.
The former Texas wide receiver recorded a time of 4.21 seconds in the 40-yard dash, setting the new record at the NFL scouting combine. He surpassed the previous mark of 4.22 seconds, which was set by former Cincinnati Bengals wideout John Ross III in 2017.
Worthy's time was unofficially recorded as 4.22 seconds at first, although it was later updated to 4.21 seconds once it was made official.
He was confident in himself heading into the drill, telling reporters on Friday that he wanted to finish in 4.
