Aided by dominant pitching and, at last, the long ball, the Cubs took Game 6 Tuesday at Progressive Field, 9-3, to stave off elimination and force an all-or-nothing Game 7 Wednesday. The last MLB team to overcome a 3-1 World Series deficit and win Games 6 and 7 on the road was the 1979 Pittsburgh Pirates.
The Cubs are one win away from pulling off the comeback and ending Chicago's 108-year World Series drought.
