World Series 2016: Coco Crisp is making up for lost crunch time with Indians

CHICAGO — Coco Crisp played the first four seasons of his career in Cleveland, got traded to Boston and was gone for more than a decade. He came back this year in a trade on Aug. 31, the deadline to be eligible for the playoffs. While Cleveland may have missed out on the prime years of Crisp’s career, it’s getting his prime moments.

Crisp turns 37 on Tuesday, and at this stage, he’s a part-time player. He had 25 plate appearances in Cleveland’s first 10 postseason games, and while he had only three hits, two of them were home runs in games that ended with champagne celebrations — Game 3 of the division series in Boston and Game 5 of the AL Championship Series in Toronto.
