The round of 16 at the 2022 Qatar World Cup has officially come to an end and just eight teams remain in the running to bring home the tournament’s coveted trophy. Next up: the quarterfinals.
The remaining field is highlighted by some of the world’s most elite men’s national teams. Six of the remaining eight teams—Brazil (No. 1), Argentina (No. 3), France (No. 4), England (No. 5), Netherlands (No. 8) and Portugal (No. 9)—are in the top 10 of the FIFA world rankings. Croatia (No. 12) and Morocco (No. 22) are the other two teams still left in the bracket after thrilling, penalty shootout victories over Japan and Spain, respectively.
