Wood Brothers Racing, one of NASCAR's oldest teams, plans a full Sprint Cup Series schedule for the first time since 2006. But unlike other full-time franchises, the team isn't guaranteed a position in every race in 2016.

The one-car team, co-founded by Hall of Fame brothers Glen Wood, 90, and Leonard, 81, wasn't awarded one of the 36 charters, or car franchises, that were announced on Tuesday. Those went to teams that had full-time cars in the 2013, '14 and '15 Cup seasons.
