The first weekend of the Guinness Women’s Six Nations featured victories for France, Scotland and England.
France beat Ireland 27-15 in Belfast in the first match on Saturday before Scotland saw off a revived Wales side 24-21 in Edinburgh later that day.
Then on Sunday, favourites England cruised to a 38-5 win over Italy in York, although the Red Roses were somewhat subdued in the second half.
The tournament signals the start of a pivotal year for the women’s game before England host the Rugby World Cup 2025 in the summer.
