WNBA shows hypocrisy in fining its players for memorial T-shirts

Great work. We love what you're doing. Just stop doing it.

That's a light paraphrase of the WNBA's decision to fine players for the New York Liberty, Phoenix Mercury and Indiana Fever over their decision to wear altered Adidas warmup shirts last week.

The Liberty's shirts had no words. They were black, save for the logo of the league's uniform sponsor. And the entire point of their existence was to show solidarity and empathy for the victims of violence against African Americans and police officers.
