On Tuesday afternoon, the day after dismissing Coach Derek Fisher, Phil Jackson logged on to Twitter and posted a picture of his iPad screen.
On the device’s word processor, Jackson had typed out a meandering essay in which he reiterated his coaching philosophy, explained the concept of self-actualization and elucidated the differences between “transactional” and “transformational” leadership styles.
Jackson, the Knicks’ president, said that he preferred a transformational style, which he said involved moving an organization toward what he called “a higher nature.” He invited readers to pick up his book “Eleven Rings: The Soul of Success.
