CONCORD, N.C. — On a scale of 1 to 10, the pain in Jeff Gordon’s back can spike as high as 7 when he gets out of bed. Most mornings, he figures it is a 5. It is never better than that.
“There’s so many things it prevents me from doing,” Gordon said Thursday after practice at Charlotte Motor Speedway. “Jogging, cycling, working out on a regular basis with weights, playing with my kids — I have to be really careful with the things I do with them.”
