With Jared Goff in and Rams still losing, who won the RG3 trade after all?

With Jared Goff making his NFL debut for the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday against the Dolphins, it’s worth noting that Goff, the No. 1 pick in last April’s draft, is the seventh Rams starting quarterback of Jeff Fisher’s five-year tenure.

Something else significant to Fisher and the franchise happened in 2012: the Robert Griffin III trade. It was pointed out immediately after the Rams got the first pick of the 2016 draft from the Titans that this closed the circle on that blockbuster trade. They made the Griffin move — down from the second overall pick for a three-year avalanche of picks — because they believed they already had their franchise guy in place: Sam Bradford, the 2010 top pick.
