Wisconsin Badgers coach Bo Ryan has announced his retirement after over 14 years with the school.
Effective immediately, associate head coach Greg Gard will take over in place of Ryan.
“Greg’s ready,” Ryan said in his post-game press conference on Tuesday. “The staff is ready. All the way through, top-flight people. I feel really good about that.”
Ryan announced in June that he would retire following the 2015–16 season, and expressed his desire for Gard, who joined his staff at Wisconsin in 2001, to replace him.
He later said in August that he wasn’t sure that he was ready to commit to leaving Wisconsin.
