Wisconsin center announces transfer destination

Wisconsin women's basketball transfer center Carter McCray committed to West Virginia on Sunday.

McCray entered the portal last month after one season with the Badgers. She originally transferred in last offseason after one year at Northern Kentucky.

The 6-foot-1 center started 29 of 30 games for Wisconsin in 2024-25, finishing the year with per-game averages of 10.6 points, 7.1 rebounds and 0.8 assists while shooting 56.7% from the field. She finished second on the team in scoring and rebounding, behind only superstar forward Serah Williams (19.2 points, 9.8 rebounds), who has also since transferred out.
