The New York Mets completed their sweep of the Chicago Cubs on Sunday with a convincing 14-3 win at home.
Wilmer Flores led the way by tying a Mets record with six hits. The young third baseman finished 6 for 6 with two home runs, four RBIs and three runs scored. The only other Met to record six hits in a game was Edgardo Alfonzo in 1999 against the Astros.
The offensive outburst was startling, but some baseball fans might have felt a jolt of deja vu after Los Angeles Angels first baseman C.J. Cron collected six hits on Saturday.
