Will Wade puts his stamp on VCU in post-Shaka Smart era

On his first day as Virginia Commonwealth’s new head basketball coach in April 2015, Will Wade walked into his team’s Franklin Street Gym practice facility and into its coaching offices.

It was the first time he had been there in more than two years, but not much had changed. His old office was there — the one he occupied as an assistant with the Rams from 2009 to 2013 before taking the head gig at Chattanooga. Most of the team’s support staff remained intact.
