Junior pitcher Karlyn Pickens started Tennessee softball's matchup with No. 1 seed Texas on Friday, but she only threw one inning before she was pulled from the game.
Pickens (15-4) struck out two Longhorns and only gave up one walk in the first inning. Tennessee was tied 0-0 with Texas after the first inning, but Pickens didn't return to the circle with the game still deadlocked at 0-0 in the bottom of the second inning.
Freshman pitcher Erin Nuwer entered the game instead.
