Who is Joe Callahan? Get to know the Packers rookie QB

CANTON, Ohio — The Packers aren’t taking any chances in Sunday night’s Hall of Fame Game against the Colts. Starting quarterback Aaron Rodgers and his backup, second-year Brett Hundley, will not play in the game.

Instead, the Packers will hand the reins to undrafted rookie Joe Callahan to begin the preseason schedule. So who is Joe Callahan? Glad you asked.

Callahan was a prolific passer at Wesley College, a Division III school in Dover, Del. The 23-year-old completed 64.2 percent of his passes for 12,878 yards and 130 touchdowns with 38 interceptions over his college career.

He threw for a remarkable 5,063 yards and 55 touchdowns during his senior season, and was just the second player in college football history to throw for more than 5,000 yards and 55 touchdowns in a single season.
