Three years. If history has taught us anything, it is that in three years, what we now know as a record-setting Warriors juggernaut will be a hoops wasteland, a post-apocalyptic nightmare populated by role players, short-lived coaches and unsightly winning percentages.
Consider that, on February 5, 1999, the Bulls went to Utah to play the Jazz in the season opener of the lockout-shortened season. Toni Kukoc led the way with 32 points, backed by 19 from Ron Harper and 11 by a Hungarian fellow known as Kornel David. The Bulls, playing their debut game with Tim Floyd as coach, lost and would finish 13-37, which was, sadly, their best record for a four-year stretch.
