Now that's something you don't see every day: A crewman in Carl Edwards' pit found himself ablaze during Sunday's Sprint Cup race.
That frightening incident was followed by one in the day's Xfinity race when a driver did a lap with a gas refilling can hanging from his car.
During a pit stop, Edwards' gas man had an unusual problem. Fuel escaped from the long-necked fuel can, which normally shuts off with withdrawn from the car. The spill somehow found a spark.
While gas burned on the track, the flame found the gas man's uniform. After realizing his fire suit was aflame, he and teammates tried to pound it out.
