The NFL suspended Carolina Panthers defensive end Wes Horton four games Monday for a violation of the league's performance-enhancing drugs policy, per NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
Horton has appeared in eight games this season, making two starts. He has one sack and seven combined tackles through Week 11.
The timing of the suspension couldn't be much worse for Horton. On Sunday, Joe Person of the Charlotte Observer noted how Horton's place on the roster was on shaky ground:
DE Wes Horton being inactive today does not bode well for his spot on the roster when Charles Johnson is activated Monday.
