The Vancouver Whitecaps FC return home after a week off to play FC Dallas in a matchup of two of the better MLS Western Conference teams on Saturday night.
Vancouver (6-6-1) is tied for fifth place with 19 points while FC Dallas (6-3-5) is tied for third place with 23.
A win would move Whitecaps to within one point of FC Dallas. A loss would give FC Dallas a seven-point cushion. Although the season is not yet at its midway point, this matchup is important in terms of jockeying for a playoff spot down the road.
Vancouver had last week off because of FIFA international play.
