Fox Sports' Jamie Horowitz is plotting a major challenge to ESPN's long-held dominance among sports cable TV networks. But ESPN president John Skipper is not sitting idly by while TV audiences grow older and younger sports fans turn to digital media for their sports news and highlights.
On Tuesday, ESPN announced a wide-ranging production/distribution deal with VICE Sports, a unit of the fast-rising Vice Media. Originally founded as a "punk zine" in Montreal in 1994, Vice Media now bills itself as the "leading global youth media company."
